The new club Human Animal Advocacy Club may just change the world… someday.
“I founded the club because I did not think there were any organizations advocating for animal welfare, which I believe is a need in our neighborhood,”said club founder, junior Lila Scott.
Students interested in joining can just show up to room 3309 (teacher Mary Bridget Nowicki’s classroom) at lunch on Mondays. There are no requirements to participate other than just showing up.
The group spends time on do-it-yourself projects, such as making toys for dogs and cats. Members previously made cat blankets for the local animal shelter, and most recently they made bird feeders.
“I want to change more than just our community; eventually, I want to start addressing issues on a national level, but first, I think we should concentrate on smaller projects,” Scott said.
