Tis the season for choir’s annual Singing Valentine’s festivities, where anyone can buy a love-themed musical performance for another person, and student musicians “deliver” them throughout the day on Feb. 14. Today’s the final day to purchase them.
“It doesn’t have to be a romantic gesture at all. It could be to your friends or as a joke. That’s really the main purpose: that people get it for each other,” choir senior Quetzali Nunez said.
Singing Valentine’s groups go to a recipient’s class during the day to harmonize, play instruments and perform small choreographies for them. Students can choose an hour and class preference on the form.
“It’s been super fun to work with a group and help raise money for the choir and music department,” said junior Danielle Borkon-Rutter, who is in choir and performing Valentines for the first time.
The cost is $5. To purchase one, find lovey-doveyly dressed choir members carrying decked-out buckets around school or visit the mall or music wing at lunch or after school.
