East students will compete in the Science Olympiad on Saturday at Hamilton Middle School.
Science Olympiad is a competition for middle and high school students across dozens of disciplines in STEM, such as anatomy, fossils and air trajectory.
Olympiad team members have spent weeks preparing for their respective events. Junior Sonya Larson, who has big goals for the contest, has been practicing her tree identification skills for the forestry competition.
“Our last competition, I got eighth out of thirty,” Larson said. “My goal is to medal…That’s first through third (place).”
East competes in the High School Division C of the Wisconsin Science Olympiad, and will face off against 109 other schools on Saturday, Feb. 22.
