East’s advanced culinary class will be participating in the ProStart culinary and management competition on Wednesday, March 19.
The students have been preparing in class every day by practicing their dishes for the competition and have even met with local professional chefs for advice. For this competition, at Madison College, ProStart members will compete against culinary teams from other schools from around the state. The winning teams will advance to the National Prostart Invitational in Baltimore from May 2-5.
“I’ve been making food since elementary school and taking the culinary classes here got me even more into it,” said sophomore and ProStart member Rex Ferm. “I’m really excited for the competition, I’m also very nervous.”
