Community Meal & Africa Club Celebration Success

Today, teacher Emily Sonnemann’s 4th period Culinary students got a special treat that went into the lunch period for all students and staff that wanted to stop by room 148, the Culinary Arts room. Chef Yusuc Bin-Rella demo’d a special recipe and then M&J Jamaican and Smiling Coast Cuisine catered the event with free African cuisine for all, including special guests: East’s Africa Club. Jacques Elate Joss and Carmen Elate, of Atelier Mamako, DJ’d the event and also led an artist workshop, where students could make wearable art out of custom cloth bags and upcycled fabric.
