Calling all students who care about social justice and human rights in the Middle East. Are you disturbed by the constant violent imagery and social media content about the war in Gaza? Do you want to learn more about the war, and what you can do to take action as an East student? Our new club “Peace in the Middle East” offers a non-judgemental and constructive environment to process news and take communal action in defense of human rights. We welcome all students regardless of background knowledge and political affiliations. We will be meeting to educate ourselves further on the historical context and current events surrounding the issues in the Middle East, specifically in Palestine. We’ll bring in knowledgeable speakers to educate peers, and inform our course of community action. Come to room 2003 the first Monday after winter break and every other Monday following to join our club!
